Betsy Mason Memorial Scholarship
The Betsy Mason Memorial Scholarship was established in December 2002 to assist students pursuing a degree in speech pathology, and the annual scholarship will be awarded this spring. Cheer Guild’s Annual Ball
The Hospital Cheer Guild’s 80th Annual Ball will be held on Saturday, April 22, at the Bel Air Ballroom, located at 765-455-0424 in Kokomo. Summer Place Car Show
Summer Place, “a real ‘50s town” is having its 15th Annual Car Show on Saturday, May 27, and the proceeds benefit the A Home for Every Child Foundation. Listen to the sounds of The Nosey Joe Band playing ‘50s and ‘60s rockabilly music and Roy Carter playing country music with a little classic rock mixed in, and old movies will be playing continuously in the movie theater. Burgers, fries, and old-fashioned flavored cokes will be served in Angel’s Diner all afternoon for $6 per person. Hot dog, chips, and drink meals will be for $3, and banana splits will be available for just $3. Spectator admission is $5 per person, (and tax deductible) and children under 12 are free. Save Social Security and Medicare with Bowzer
Doo-wop star Jon Bauman, former lead singer of Sha Na Na, will take the stage at the IUK Havens Auditorium, located at 2300 S. Washington St. in Kokomo, on Friday, April 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. as part of a campaign to protect Medicare and Social Security. “Bowzer” will be breaking out his signature moves in his “Hands off Medicare” tour.
