The 2017 Greater Kokomo Fall Bridal Gala will be held at Celebrations Banquet and Conference Facility (3437 W. Sycamore St.) on Oct. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is $5 at the door or free to brides who register ahead of the event at kokomobridalgala.com.

“Brides who register online provide us with a little bit of information about themselves and their event,” said Roseanne Aeschliman, owner of Celebrations. “Entry is free for the bride and up to three guests per ticket, a $20 value, so brides can bring their wedding party.”

The event will feature many aspects to planning a bride’s big day. It will help brides-to-be meet face-to-face with vendors like disc jockeys, make-up artists, florists, decorators, photographers, and many more.

“The event is for early-middle planners who still need to book vendors for their event. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet your vendor in person versus booking online or over the phone. You actually get to meet them in person and decide if they are a good fit and make sure that you’re comfortable with the person you are working with so closely,” said Aeschliman.

Upon entry at the event, each bride will receive contact information for all of the vendors as well as a paper wedding planner to help them stay on track.

“It’s like a checklist to keep you on track and go over what you should be thinking of a year before, 10 months before, a month before,” she said. “We will also have pro talks throughout the day. Professionals in a variety of fields will speak for about 10 minutes and answer general questions about their area of expertise.”

Aeschliman said the gala is very beneficial to brides-to-be so they can meet and get to know the personality of the vendor they hire for their wedding day. Some of the vendors will offer discounts for services booked during the event.

There will be more than 20 vendors at the gala that will contribute to hourly door prizes and an overall grand prize that is generally a $6,000 to $7,000 value.

“All of the vendors supply something toward it,” Aeschliman said. “Brides-to-be must be present to win.”

From caterers to bridal fashion (including tuxedos) to wedding party accommodations and cakes, brides-to-be will be exposed to a variety of vendors that can help plan their wedding.
