Bunker Hill, IN (August 14, 2017) – With the school season recently underway, Miami Correctional Facility (MCF) staff wanted to assist local students with back-to-school supplies. In just a matter of days, MCF staff collected a total of 458 boxes of crayons to distribute to students at Pipe Creek Elementary School. This school serves 420 students in grades PK-1. The crayons were provided to Pipe Creek personnel on August 10, 2017. Laura Fulton, Principal of Pipe Creek Elementary and Elizabeth Resler, Guidance Counselor extended their appreciation and thanked all of the MCF staff for their donation to the students.

MCF staff plans on participating in several other community involvement activities throughout the year. “This is another great example of the generosity displayed by MCF staff and their continued efforts in helping local communities, stated Warden Kathy Griffin.  MCF staff hoped to have brightened the day of the children at Pipe Creek Elementary School and wishes them the best school season yet!
