    The Death by Chocolate treats at Kokomo Confectioner’s Company, 207 E. Superior St., are one of the most popular items stocked by the students of the Kokomo Area Career Center Culinary Program at their candy shop on Superior Street in downtown Kokomo. 
  • Mac welcomes new Tech Director
    Maconaquah School Corporation’s administrative team welcomed a new-yet-familiar face in the 2017-18 school year. Chris Percival, previous Computer Systems Engineer and 2005 graduate of Maconaquah High School, was hired as the corporation’s Technology Director in June.
  • Taylor students hit the streets
    For the second year, Taylor School Corporation effectively closed its doors to allow students the chance to get involved in their community. On Tuesday, instead of opening books or beginning a test, the students and staff loaded up on buses for a different type of learning.

    Over the last several years, the facility at Walter Cross Field at Kokomo High School has evolved. The first dirt was turned over in 2011 when the school added new home locker rooms, followed in 2012 by a new concession stand, enlarged restroom facility, and visitors’ locker room. 
  • Hard work pays off for Edgington and Chance
    Two Maconaquah High School seniors earned a certification that will open future doors for them in the world of technology. Brandon Chance and Jordan Edgington became qualified as Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technicians (CCENT) this summer after passing the Cisco exam.
  • Stellar scholars from KHS awarded
    AP classes were no match for 47 Kokomo High School students and recent graduates. On Monday, the students were recognized at the Kokomo School Corp. Board of Trustees meeting for earning Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar awards for their “exceptional achievement” on college-level exams.

    In Indiana late July and early August brings hot weather, the State Fair and also the start of a new school year. Every school year the Indiana State Police receives numerous complaints about school bus stop arm violations from school corporations around the state.
