While temperatures this week have been above normal, a big pattern change will bring much colder air to Indiana by this weekend and next week. A weather system will bring windy conditions along with periods of showers to the area on Friday. But a strong arctic cold front will move through the Ohio Valley on Saturday with rapidly falling temperatures and rain changing to snow.

We are closely watching a secondary system that *could* bring a chance for snow on Christmas Eve Night and Christmas Day. In addition bitterly cold air will pour into the Midwest and Ohio Valley by Christmas Day and for much of next week with the coldest air of the season. High temperatures will only reach the teens on Tuesday and Wednesday with low temperatures likely falling below zero. Wind chill values by the middle of next week could drop to as low as -20.
