Bitterly cold air is taking shape across the Ohio Valley and we will see much below normal temperatures through the first week of the New Year.

A couple of weather systems could bring a few chances of snow to the area. The first will arrive late Friday and into the day on Saturday with a round of light to moderate snow. Another system could bring snow showers back to the area by the middle of next week.

High temperatures through the weekend will only reach the single digits and low teens. Overnight temperatures will fall below zero with wind chill values dropping as low as -20. Temperatures by the middle of next week won't be quite as cold with high temperatures near 20.
