    Alfred John Ashburn passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 after several months of illness due to natural causes. John was a retired Firefighter with the Kokomo Fire Department with over 30 years of service.

    Rose Eva (Cole) Browning, 82, Kokomo, passed away at 3 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at her home. She was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Sharps Chapel, TN, the daughter of Roy and Floy (Shoffner) Cole. On Nov. 27, 1952, she married Troy C. Browning, and he survives.

    Raymond G. Chapman, 93, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. Ray was born Feb. 5, 1924, to Ray and Mabel (Taylor) Chapman in Howard County. He was married to Betty (Horton) Chapman for 73 years.

    Colleen Marie Padgett, 63, Evansville, formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at her home. She was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Indianapolis, to Richard and Marilyn (McCoy) Henn. On May 22, 1976, she married David Ross Padgett, and he preceded her in death July 24, 2012.

    Andrew "AJ" Stewart, 39, Sharpsville, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1977 in Frankfort, to Gary and Beverly (McFarland) Stewart. He had previously lived in Lexington and Kirklin before moving to Sharpsville. On Aug. 7, 2004, AJ married Sondra Woods, and she survives.

    Arlita L. Williams, 69, Granite City, IL, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, in Granite City. Arlita was born in Kokomo, on April 16, 1947, to Arlet S. and Helen L. (Briant) Cass. She lived in Kokomo 49 years before moving to Illinois.

    Marilyn Neva Conn, 88, Kokomo, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Century Villa Healthcare. She was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Kokomo to the late Frank M. and Jessie H. (Hastings) Rose. She married Matthew T. Conn on Nov. 9, 1941, and he preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1999. 
  • B. SUSAN (SANDIFUR) FIVECOATE

    B. Susan (Sandifur) Fivecoate went home to God on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. The "B" stands for Biddie. Susan was named after her grandmother, Biddie Alaphare Moses. Susan was born in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky, in the town of Harlan, on July 11, 1944, to Joseph G. and Ordoruth "Audrey" (Moses) Sandifur. She spent her early childhood in those mountains she loved so dearly.

    On Feb. 16, 2017, Harvey Lee and his wife Mary Nix were on their way to the doctor, but God had a different appointment in mind. He dispatched an angel to carry Deacon Harvey home. Deacon Harvey Lee Nix, Sr., 81, was born April 4, 1935, in Mount Vernon, AR, to Telmon Boyd and Versie Rena Nix. Harvey married Claudia Ethel Nix, who preceded him in death after 58 years of marriage. He later married the former Mary Jones, who survives.
  • PHILLIP G. KEYTON

    Phillip G. Keyton, 90, Greentown, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Century Villa Healthcare, Greentown. He was born in Howard County on Sept. 7, 1926, to Theodore and Nellie (Hobson) Keyton. On Nov. 13, 1964, he married C. Jenean (Malchow) Keyton, and she survives.
