    On Thursday, May 4, Advocates for Livable Communities-Kokomo (ALC-K) participated in the Indianapolis Summit hosted by the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community.

    With 24 years of ministry, CAM, Inc continues to reach out to the homeless and near homeless, still serving over 1,000 people every year.  In 2016, CAM served 1,406 people - including 466 children and teens.

    Having previously resided in one of downtown Kokomo’s newest apartments, I can attest to the desirability and need of downtown housing growth. Living downtown, I understand is not for everybody; however, the demand certainly exists.

    Allison Petrek and John Vignocchi own it. Lots of kids don’t want Disney Infinity closed down because of mean people. Allison Petrek and John Vignocchi don’t want to quit for Disney Infinity, they want it to come back.

    My husband and I were saddened to read about the closing of the Marsh Pharmacies.  We were loyal customers of the Kokomo Marsh Pharmacy because of their service, product knowledge and focus on customer concerns.

    Thanks for this first time CAM fund raiser at providing Nelson’s Chicken Lunches for our community on April 19th.  We raised $3,561. We sold all of our 350 lunches.

    Saturday, May 13, marks the 25th anniversary of one of America’s great days of giving - the National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive.  Letter carriers walk through the community every day, often coming face to face with a sad reality for too many, hunger.

    I love the opinion page. I love reading every ones opinion. We Americans need this because we are becoming so diver-sable that if people are willing to read, we sometimes learn something very important to the survival of our way of life and freedoms, and our constitution, in some cases, who wants to either destroy or control the population.

    On March 11, approximately 250 guests attended one of Kokomo’s most unique annual events, the Acacia Academy’s Art in Bloom. The event, held at First Church of the Nazarene, raised just over $50,000 for Acacia’s student scholarship fund.
