    On Dec. 25, our mother passed away at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She had been an assisted-living resident for almost three years. We, the family, want to thank the Wellbrooke staff for their loving care of our mother.

    In recent years, much needed attention has been brought to the quality of life veterans experience after serving our country. Unemployment and mental health has held the spotlight in those discussions, but an important underlying issue is tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
