The wrestling Lewis Cass Kings swept the Wabash Apaches 72-6 on Dec. 6. The team went 13 for 14 in the meet. Sam Miller, Noah Miller, Cade Cox, Cael Bernhardt, Hunter Carden, Connor Jones, and Aaron Willison all won by falls. Jordan Raderstorf, Blake Jones, and Tristan Keller all won by decisions. Finally, Drake Hall, Chris Klein, and Cole Carden won by forfeits. 

This past Saturday, the Kings competed in the Maconaquah Invite. Altogether, the Kings went 4-1. The Kings defeated Lapel (60-18), Tipton (65-12), Rossville (58-18), and Tri-Central (63-15). On the other hand, the team lost to Marion (39-36). H. Carden and Hall both went undefeated (5-0). N. Miller, Cox, Keller, Bernhardt, C. Carden, Bandelier, C. Jones and Willison all went 4-1 during the tournament. S. Miller and C.J. Burrous finally ended the day 3-2. 

“We had a good first Saturday,” said head coach Burrous. “I was pleased with how we wrestled all day, and with how hard the kids have worked so far this year.”

The Kings face Rensselaer on Dec. 10.

The Queenfish and Kingfish dominated the Carroll Cougars on Dec. 6. The team swept the Cougars by winning all 12 events. Individually, Mari Karmel, a junior, won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 butterfly. Hannah Young, a freshman, won the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Maddy Karmel, a senior, won the 100 freestyle. Kassi Hardy, senior, placed first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Ally Carden, a freshman, won the 100 breaststroke. Finally, Emma Deutscher defeated the competition in the diving event.

As a team, Maddy Karmel, Carden, McKenna Wolf, and Michaela Walker placed first in the 200 medley relay. Paige Buettner, both Karmels, and Young won the 200 freestyle relay. Buettner, Hardy, Mari Karmel, and Young finished the streak with a win in the 400 freestyle relay. 

The swim team faces Hamilton Heights on Dec. 8.
