  • King of the heavyweights
    It was a perfect ending to a perfect season for Eastern High School’s Evan Ellis. In front of nearly 12,500 wrestling fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Feb. 18, the senior soared to an altitude no other Comet had obtained – an IHSAA wrestling state championship.
  • Panthers soar in middle school basketball
    In the annual showcase of future varsity players, Western swept all three game in the Kokomo-Howard County Boys Basketball Middle School Championships. 
  • The draw is complete
    Three hundred ninety-nine teams were drawn and placed into brackets for the 107th Annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament presented by the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever.
  • Kings fall to Twin Lakes
    Lewis Cass fell to Class 3A No. 5 Twin Lakes 92-59 on Feb. 21. The Kings could not keep up with the Indians throughout the game due to the lack of shots and opportunities. 
  • Western’s Poe wins sectional title
    The Carmel Greyhounds won every event at the IHSAA Noblesville Boys Swimming and Diving Sectional except one, the one-meter dive. For the second consecutive year, the sectional diving champion was Western’s Cameron Poe. 
  • Lady Tigers stall in Elite Eight
    A year before many envisioned, a young corps of Northwestern Lady Tigers swept through a talented field, won its first game of the Rensselaer Central Regional and found itself in the Elite Eight.
  • Western bowlers head to state
    The Western High School boys bowling team recently captured the Kokomo Sectional before finishing third at both the Marion Regional and Anderson Semi-State. 
  • Kings defeat Comets
    The Lewis Cass Kings flew past the Caston Comets 46-29 on Valentine’s Day. Earlier this season, the Kings defeated the Comets by 47 points in the Cass County Tournament. 
  • Tigers roll to semifinals
    Expectations were high heading into the IHSAA Class 3A Girls Basketball Sectional 20 at Benton Central High School for a trio of teams.
  • Grapplers advance to semi-state
    One week after winning its fourth consecutive sectional title on its home mats, the Oak Hill Golden Eagles captured its third straight regional title on the road at Peru.
