    With the season close to ending, Lady Tigers players and fans were excited to take a 15-4 record into the championship game of the Hoosier Conference with a shot at winning the program’s first-ever league title in any conference.

    Abby Kolk loves soccer, whether it is playing for the Eastern Comets, the Indiana ODP State Team, or the Kokomo Soccer Club. Last month, the Comet senior added a new team to the list for when she signed a letter of intent to continue her career at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.

    Kokomo High School freshman phenom Tionna Brown continued to sizzle in track and field by claiming three victories at the North Central Conference Girls Track Championships held at Lafayette Jefferson High School. Participants battled through cold and windy conditions during the evening meet.

    On April 26, Kokomo Wildkat basketball fans were stunned when Matt Moore announced he was leaving to take the head coaching position at Fishers High School. 
  • Baseball sectional pairings
    5/11/2017
    A field of 384 teams will begin play later this month as the pairings for the 51st Annual IHSAA Baseball State Tournament Series were announced. Host schools will announce playing schedules in the days to come which will then be added to the online brackets at MaxPreps.com.
  • The Sparling Spark commits

    At some point during the 2014-2015 basketball season, Kokomo High School statistician Patrick Barrett coined the phrase, “Sparling Spark.” For three seasons, when Wildkat sharpshooter Ty Sparling would drain a 3-pointer, Barrett would say it was the Sparling Spark.
  • Western and IUK hire coaches

    Howard County schools hired three varsity head coaches last week in the sports of basketball and football. At Indiana University Kokomo, Nicole “Colie” Trawick was named the new women’s basketball coach. Trawick is currently the head coach at Massasoit Community College. 
  • Kokomo tops Western in baseball battle

    Three times last weekend the Kokomo Wildkats baseball team found themselves in a hole. And three times they found a way to pull off a victory. The result of a 3-0 weekend was a perfect start for the Class 4A No. 5 Wildkats and a 12-0 record midway through the campaign.
