Troy White
was announced as the new head coach for the Kokomo Lady Wildkats basketball team on July 17 at the school board meeting. White takes over the vacancy left by former coach Jeremy Dexter (104-52 lifetime, 29-17 at Kokomo).

PAL Football sign-ups will be held on the following Saturdays in July: 22 and 29 from 10a-2p and on the following Sundays in July: 23 and 30 from 1p-4p at the PAL Field (3520 W Boulevard). The cost is $55 per child and division is based on the age and grade of the child as of Sept. 1, 2017. Participants must show a birth certificate at registration. Flag football is for children ages 5-second grade. Junior tackle is grades three and four with Senior tackle for grades five and six. Games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays starting in August and running through October.

Kokomo High School is accepting orders for All Sports Passes for the 2017-2018 school year. Passes for adults are $75, seniors (ages 65+) $60, and student passes are on sale for $25 through Aug. 18. Student tickets purchased on and after Aug. 19 will be $45. Girls or boys basketball season tickets are $40. Applications for the tickets can be found on the KHS Athletics website https://www.kokomoschools.com/Page/1940.

HCA Hurricanes have set call outs for the upcoming swim season. Anyone interested in joining the organization need to attend a call out on July 25 and 26 from 6p-7p at the Kokomo High School pool. Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate, a swim suit, and goggles. Existing Hurricanes must sign-up at call out for the new season. The 2017 Kokomo Lady Kats softball camps will be held Sept. 12-14 at Kokomo High School. This is a change from the previously released dates. The skills camp will be Sept. 12-13 from 4p-6p for 11-15 year olds and 6p-8p for 6-10 year olds. The skills camp will focus on hitting, fielding, and base running. On Sept. 14, there will be an additional camp held for pitchers and catchers. Intermediate/advanced pitchers and catchers will attend from 4p-5:30p. Beginning pitchers and catchers will be taught fundamentals from 5:30p-7p.

The Kokomo Family YMCA is accepting sign-ups for Little Dribblers Camp that will be held July 24-28 at the YMCA Gym for ages 4-6 from 5:15-6:15 p.m. For more information or to register, contact Mark Sutton at mark.sutton@kokomoymca.org or (765) 457-4447.

The Howard County Thunder girls fastpitch travel softball organization is holding try-outs for their 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams Aug. 5-6 at Darrough Chapel Park. 10U is at 9a, 12U at 11a, 14U at 1p, 16U at 3p, and 18U at 5p.
