The Howard County Thunder girls fast pitch travel softball organization is holding try-outs for their 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams Aug. 5-6 at Darrough Chapel Park. 10U is at 9a, 12U at 11a, 14U at 1p, 16U at 3p, and 18U at 5p. Potential players must attend one of the two scheduled dates to be eligible for a team unless prior arrangements have been made. The Howard County Inferno ’03, ’04, and ‘06 fast pitch travel softball teams will hold try-outs Aug. 5 at Kokomo High School from 2-4 p.m. for the 2017-2018 season.

Kokomo High School is accepting orders for All Sports Passes for the 2017-2018 school year. Passes for adults are $75, seniors (ages 65+) $60, and student passes are on sale for $25 through Aug. 18. Student tickets purchased on and after Aug. 19 will be $45. Girls or boys basketball season tickets are $40. Applications for the tickets can be found on the KHS Athletics website https://www.kokomoschools.com/Page/1940.

The 2017 Kokomo Lady Kats softball camps will be held Sept. 12-14 at Kokomo High School. This is a change from the previously released dates. The skills camp will be Sept. 12-13 from 4p-6p for 11-15 year olds and 6p-8p for 6-10 year olds. The skills camp will focus on hitting, fielding, and base running. On Sept. 14, there will be an additional camp held for pitchers and catchers. Intermediate/advanced pitchers and catchers will attend from 4p-5:30p. Beginning pitchers and catchers will be taught fundamentals from 5:30p-7p.

Indiana University Kokomo Cougar Prospect Camp is open to high school-aged baseball players. On Sept. 3 or Oct. 22 baseball players can work out with Cougar Head Coach Matt Howard and Assistant Coaches Joe Thatcher and Zach Hall. The camp will focus on how to get recruited, speed evaluations, defense, and offense. Those interested can register online at www.totalcamps.com/CougarBaseballCamps.
