Tigers second in the pool
Northwestern and Western swim in the Hoosier Conference swimming meet

The Northwestern Tigers finished as Hoosier Conference runners-up at the league meet in the pool at Purdue University. The Tigers trailed champion West Lafayette 367.5 to 364 in a close finish. Western was third with 290 points.
Northwestern had one champion as the 200-meter freestyle relay team posted a time of 1:34.16 to lead the field (Michael Bolyard, Jaden Pratt, Guss Boruff, Ethan Breisch).
The foursome of Nick Jozwiak, Jacob Myers, Jakob White and Bourff earned a second-place finish with a time of 1:47.91 in the 200 medley relay. Northwestern also took home second in the 400 free relay as Jozwiak, Cameron Johnson, Bolyard and White swam a time of 3:31.57. White also earned an individual second place after a 1:55.81 in the 200 free. He also finished third in the 100 butterfly (:58.16)
Breisch was third in the 50 free (:22.82) and Jozwiak finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.44).
The Panthers had a pair of first place finishes as Cameron Poe repeated as the conference diving champion (393.40) and Josh Everetts won the 200 free with a time of 1:52.50. Everetts also finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:03.35.
Also for Western, Palmer Harrell placed second in the 100 breast stroke (1:06.29) while the 200 free relay team (Gavin Schmidt, Allen Purcell, Harrell and Everetts) swam a 1:35.77 for second place. The 400 free relay team finished third (Schmidt, Everetts, Purcell and Trey Shock) with a time of 3:32.32. Schmidt also finished third in the in the 200 individual medley (2:16.13) and 100 free (:52.65).
In the girls Hoosier Conference swim meet at Purdue University, Western finished fourth with 224 points and Northwestern was fifth with 217. Lewis Cass tied with Twin Lakes for sixth (216). Hamilton Heights won the team trophy.
For Western, Grace Lupoi was a double winner as she took first in the 50-meter freestyle (:24.73) and 100 free (:53.70). Claire Casner also captured a conference title with a first-place swim in the 200 free (2:02.99).
Casner swam to a conference runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly (1:02.22). She was also a member of the second place 400 free relay team with Delaney Lupoi, Grace Lupoi and Lauren Lafever (3:50.61). Delaney Lupoi took home a second in the 100 freestyle (:56.44). The Lady Panthers 200 medley relay team of Delaney Lupoi, Emma Shoemaker, Casner and Grace Lupoi finished third (1:57.23).
Northwestern’s top swimmer was Kristen Kaneshiro, who placed fourth in the 200 free (2:06.35) and fifth in the 500 free (5:44.61).
